Limit UV Rays

Ultraviolet radiation (UVR) accounts for about 82% of melanoma (the deadliest skin cancer) in Alberta. Protect yourself and your family – at home, at work and at play.

Most of us spend at least a little time in the sun every day. Some Albertans have jobs that require them to spend significant time outdoors, and others even choose to tan indoors. The fact is that UVR – from both the sun and indoor tanning – is linked not only to skin cancers, but to a whole spectrum of health risks including eye damage, a weakened immune system and an increased risk of a recurrent skin cancer or second primary cancer.1
